Common questions
How long does a service take, and what's included?
Depends on the surface. A single-stage polish and coating on a car usually runs a day or two; full correction, larger vessels and aircraft take longer. You'll know exactly what's included before anything is booked.
Can you remove scratches and swirl marks from my paint?
Machine correction removes the large majority of swirl marks, wash marring and oxidation. Deeper scratches through the clear coat can be improved but not always removed — we'll tell you honestly what's achievable at the consultation.
What does a ceramic coating include?
A full paint correction first, then the ceramic coating itself. The system we use carries a manufacturer rating of up to ten years under proper care — a product rating, not an unconditional Altus warranty.
Do you only work on cars?
No. Altus Finishes started in automotive and now runs three divisions — aerospace, marine and automotive. Same surface discipline throughout; methods and materials are matched to the asset.
Where are you located, and do you travel?
The shop is in Nanaimo. Automotive work happens there; marine and aerospace work is carried out on site across Vancouver Island.
